About Patrick Trettenero

As a New York based storyteller, Patrick Trettenero has extensive experience as an award-winning producer, director, writer, creative director and mentor. A veteran of theater, film and television, Patrick attended Northwestern University’s storied theater program and has worked in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and throughout the US and UK.

Patrick’s early career as a theater artist included 5 years as Artistic Director of the celebrated Chicago theater company Cloud 42. He directed the premiere Chicago production of “Late Night Catechism,” which he would go on to direct in more than a dozen markets in the US and UK, as well as the off-Broadway production which ran for 6 years at St. Luke’s Theater on 46th street. As a Broadway investor, Patrick is proud to have supported Next to Normal (Pulitzer Prize), Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Fully Committed, 1984 and Kimberly Akimbo (2023 Tony-winning Best Musical). In 2023, he made his Broadway producing debut as a co-producer of "Here Lies Love" by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim. He is currently attached as a co-producer of the Broadway-bound musical, “Beaches.”

In October 2024, Patrick will produce the musical comedy “Kafkaesque!” by James Harvey, opening off-Broadway at Theater 154 (formerly the New Ohio Theater).

He spent 20 years as an executive at NBCUniversal, where he ran “Brandworks,” an internal creative agency within the Cable Entertainment group with an emphasis on branded content. As a creative director, writer, director and producer he won multiple Promax, Clio, Telly and Cannonball awards, among others. He also oversaw the Emmy-award winning talk show, Talk Stoop. As a creative lead for the annual NBCU Upfront Presentation at Radio City Music Hall, he was tasked with turning corporate strategy into live entertainment.

In early 2022, Patrick served as an Executive Producer for an Emmy-nominated telethon in support of LA’s largest homeless services organization, the Union Rescue Mission, with hosts Joel McHale and Angela Bassett. The telethon ran on local CBS affiliate as well as streaming nationwide on CBSN and successfully raised $3.5 million.

As a creative strategist, his recent projects included a fine arts mentorship program for The Washington Post, a subscriber reward program for Comcast and work as a branded content strategy coach for A&E Networks.

Most recently, Patrick formed the creative studio Staro Industries. His first short comedy film, “The Relentless Patience of Priscilla Cranberry,” winner of Most Outrageous Film at the Orlando Film Festival and was selected for the Cineworld and Brazil Film Festivals. His current short comedy, “Mr. Marty Pants,” which he wrote, produced and directed, is now in post-production.

He serves as the board president at The Stissing Center, a cultural and community organization in Pine Plains, NY.
